Brown Butter Cinnamon Peach Cobbler is the ultimate summer dessert, capturing the essence of juicy, ripe peaches and warm, toasty flavors in every bite. Imagine sweet peaches, bubbling away in their own syrupy juices, mingled with the rich, nutty notes of brown butter and the warmth of cinnamon. It’s like a cozy hug in dessert form!
If you’ve been reading my recipes over the past year, you may have noticed I’m a big fan of brown butter. 😉 This new peach cobbler recipe is my latest attempt at using it and please believe me when I tell you…brown butter is the way to go here!
The brown butter adds a deep, caramel-like flavor that takes this cobbler to the next level, making it irresistible. The “cobbler” portion is a golden, buttery cake like mixture with a hint of cinnamon that crisps up beautifully in the oven, giving way to a soft, tender interior that soaks up all that delicious peachy goodness.
This cobbler is best served warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that melts into all those sweet, cinnamon-spiced layers. It’s the kind of dessert that’s perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or any time you want to treat yourself to something truly special. Whether you’re enjoying it on a summer evening or as a comforting treat on a chilly day, this Brown Butter Cinnamon Peach Cobbler is sure to become a favorite!
Let me show you how to make it happen!
Place your butter in a medium sized skillet. Over medium high heat, melt the butter and allow it to foam up and start to pop a bit. Stir it as it turns brown. It will start to emit a lovely nutty flavor. Once it’s nice and golden brown (a bit darker than golden brown is ok, too) remove it from the heat.
Spray a 9×13 pan with cooking spray and pour the brown butter into the pan. Set aside to cool.
Peel and slice your peaches. Add them, the sugar and water to a deep skillet and bring to a nice rolling simmer. Let it simmer for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
To make the “cobbler” batter, toss together the dry ingredients. Pour the milk and vanilla into your bowl and stir well to combine. Pour the batter directly over the top of the brown butter. Don’t stir it, my friends. Just leave it be.
Scoop the peaches onto the batter and then pour the sugary syrup from the peach pan over the top. Still don’t stir it. Trust me. It’s going to turn out all mixed and bubbly and wonderful.
Get the old girl in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the the edges are golden brown and the center is cooked through.
Serve warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.
