What does the SURFboard Central app do? ›

Working optimally together with your SURFboard® Home Networking device, SURFboard Central guides you from installation to configuration. Easily manage your home network, customize your settings, enable Guest Wi-Fi, manage the devices connected to your network and set up Parental Controls.

In your web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari), type in 192.168. 0.1 in your URL and press Enter on your keyboard. You will be taken to the Arris login screen, asking you for a username and password.

Rebooting an Arris modem is usually enough to resolve any issue with connecting to the Internet. Unplug your modem from the power source, wait for 1-2 minutes, and plug it back in. However, if rebooting doesn't solve the problem, you should check the cables for damage or reset to factory settings.

Download the SURFboard Central app from the app store on an Apple or Android mobile device. Tap the SURFboard icon then tap the Get Started button. The Allow notification pop-up will appear. It is required to enable Location Services in the SURFboard Central app to perform first-time setup installation.

The default username is “admin” and the password is “password” on the SURFboard product. Changes made in the SURFboard Manger App will automatically be pushed to the SURFboard product. NOTE: For network security purposes, ARRIS recommends to change the default admin password after logging on for the first time.

NOTE: This article applies to the SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modems (G34, G36, G54). The gateway's default IP address 192.168. 0.1 is used for accessing the Web Manager, and the DHCP server assigns private IP addresses (192.168. 0.2 - 192.168.

This issue typically indicates that your device can connect to your local network (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet) but cannot reach the internet. Common causes of no internet connection include problems with the router or modem, incorrect DNS settings, IP address conflicts, or issues with your internet provider.

Connect your modem to your router's WAN port via Ethernet cable. Plug the power supply in for both devices and wait for the lights to come on. Find your router's network name (SSID) and network key. Use this information to connect your device to Wi-Fi.
