I hope these "vampire Scorn" are like actual Vampires that drain Ether from Eliksni and turn them into more Scorn.

I kinda love that Eliksni seasons can get a little goofy: we got to be cyberpunk hackers in Splicer, pirates in Plunder, now Vampire Hunters in Revenant. Just full "wouldn't it be cool if" vibes.

Honestly im excited for the fact that Nessus is remembered by Bungie and that we're getting a story involving Failsafe

It's still so surreal that the Witness is gone, as someone who started their Guardian's journey in 2015. I remember 2 subclasses only. Really anxious to see what Bungie's devs do next.

There is that one scannable on Nessus that, if you're an exo, Ghost warns you to stay away from

The shape of that strange light around Saint-14 looks like the Ishtar Collective logo.

Reclaiming Torobatl sounds like it could be an absolute top tier expansion, a full campaign and raid would be so COOL

Oryx coming back actually makes sense as the name of the episode is “Heresy” and there is no heresy to the hive that is lower than Necromancy

It really feels like there's a renewed vigor for the future of destiny after seeing what they've already shown so far it's absolutely insane.

We already know (if you didn’t already know) that the Witness broke the 4th wall towards the end of the final campaign mission where he talked about guardians going for loot, commendations and triumphs.
HOWEVER
In the 4th encounter of Salvations Edge, The Witness recognizes what we’re doing with 2D and 3D shapes and kills the 3 guardians split off into solo rooms testing to see if we can return our ghosts to each other without seeing where we are because he knows we’re communicating outside of the game, breaking the 4th more aggressively than before.

I think the lore tab for the "Ill Omens" sword coming out this Episode points to Eris taking up Oryx's mantle as 'The Navigator' and assuming control of the Dreadnought:
"Eris placed a third card beside the others.
The Harbinger.
So, she still had a role to play in all this. She stared down at the image of herself, running an ungloved fingertip along its edge.
They would come for her soon...
The feeling evaporated. The card faces stared up at her. The three of them united once again: Eris Morn, Savathûn, and Xivu Arath. The cards spoke of confrontation, but also sorority. Xivu Arath had called her sister. Was she still?

With Eris as Navigator, we take the Dreadnought out of Sol and my personal hope is retaking Torobatl and a final confrontation with Xivu Arath.

Important thing to note: the Sparrow, Ghost Shell, and Ship in the season pass have lore tabs that are personal logs of an unnamed person that is clearly our mysterious enemy. One thing they talk about in these logs is the simulated copies in the vex network, basically saying they dont count as true people. What this makes me think is that this is actually the original Maya, corrupted by her interactions with the Veil and planning to use the Vex for her own ends (seemingly uplifting humanity going by these lore tabs) regardless of the cost. Another note: In the altered version of the Insight Terminus strike from Micah's lost ghost quest has a cloned Kargen attempting to access it and being stopped from accessing it outright *by Maya*.

I'm not the only one who noticed that the collar on Saint-14 and the Vex looks a lot like the Ishtar logo, right? It lines up with the theory that the new big bad in this Episode will be Maya Sundaresh, too, or at least validates it a little more.

Not gonna lie, I chuckled when one of the devs said "we're gonna take the hive pantheon and shake up the snowglobe" like... dude, far as I'm concerned, the snowglobe was smashed to pieces back in The Witch Queen with the revelation that the Hive's existence is predicated on a lie.

Also putting my money on it now, with Failsafe having made us Armor this season in order to entice us to visit since we get to go to all the cool places, is gonna end up realising the meme and making itself into a gun, as it realises that is how it can get us to take them to see all the cool places.

One thing to point out is that in the shot at 12:12 you can actually see in the top right that there's at least one Pyramid vessel among Fikrul's new fleet. In one of the post campaign quests where you recover a Ghost from Nezarec's pyramid for Micah, the dialogue mentions that the Pyramid is yearning for a master. So it's possible that with the Witness gone, Fikrul was able to exert some sort of influence over one or more of the Black Fleet vessels and use them to his advantage.
I've also seen a theory going around the community that the whole navigator theme in Heresy is pointing towards us taking control of the Dreadnaught and using it to leave Sol, to new systems and destinations in Frontiers. And I think that concept is AWESOME.

Way too much is pointing towards Torobatl as our next major destination. The Cabal have had such a massive presence in Destiny 2 from the Red Legion, Calus, Caiatl, The Shadow Legion, The Psions, Xivu’s invasion.
Destroying Xivu and liberating Torobatl would bring closure to so many plot threads that its begging to be explored as an expansion narrative.

With the focus on the Vex, I hope we get to explore 2082 Volantis. Been hoping to sink my teeth into new Lore on what is on the other side of that portal since we fought Belmon

"Hive! Bring a snow globe!" The line they need to add to the Drifter come Heresy.

Toland finding an echo and becoming some sort of eldritch force of Darkness, potentially being the one who's peeling away the surface of the Dreadnaught & opening these gateways sounds like a really enticing idea to me!

After The Hidden exhuming Oryx’s body last year in Ghosts of the Deep, Savathûn saying she’s preparing for a future game in the pale heart, Bungie saying they want to focus on the siblings, then showing pictures of Oryx AND going back to the dreadnaught?

Getting my Voidwalker Dresstiny ready for Reveanent, so I can be Destiny Alucard.

You know, between being an impossible, inverted space and fact it's literally a corpse, makes sense that the Dreadnought would be literally pulling itself apart at the seams if a new power gets introduced to it.

One thing you forgot to mention, in regards to the Dreadnought, is that the ship is literally the second strongest Worm God's remains. There is bound to be immense reserves of power left over, even after Oryx's death. The fact that the Worm Gods are being featured prominently after the death of their subjugator, is very interesting.
Personally, if I ONLY get the Navigator armor for my Titan, I'll be a happy camper. The rest is just bonus.

Where are the nine in all this? It feels like bungie has either forgotten or hasn't found a good place for them but it would be nice.

The Vex do whatever it takes to survive, no matter how immoral or wrong that is. But not all Vex, despite being interconnected like a hive mind, followed or worshipped the witness meaning they knew the witness wasn’t going to be the end all be all.

I'm excited for all of these. Since Failsafe is involved with this first episode, I wonder if we'll revisit the original captain of the Exodus Black who we encountered as a Vex back in vanilla D2.

We could finally meet back up with Lady Efrideet, possibly.

3:46 Something I just realized is that this is the same place we saw in the Season of the Undying trailer (it had all of the empty Vex frames suspended in water, before going through a portal to the Black Garden)

If you look carefully at the Vex and Saint, you’ll see that the neck brace they wear matches the Ishtar collective insignia.

The "Vex Collar" is basically the Ishtar Collective logo put around their necks, practically confirming that the hooded figure is Maya Sundaresh, reborn via the echo.

I just want the IX, the Aphelion and Volantis to get some love after these episodes.
The IX are major players in the universe, they could have an entire expansion for themselves.
The Aphelion could be something interesting as a new enemy race. But maybe instead of a whole race, they could be one type of enemy that hunt awoken and tech witches (idk how to spell it) in groups. Like a pack of wolves or something.
Lastly Volantis could be an interesting Dungeon location with new Vex types.
There is so much more too, things like the disciple connected to Winterbite and similar things.
God I hope for D2 to continue being good, an animated Destiny show could be great too.

I love how bungie takes their time when bringing back fan favorites. Especially with exotics and destinations. Imagine how lackluster a lot of renewed content would be if bungie was quick to please the nostalgia zombies.

Frontiers sounds like a fresh start to destiny, like a brand new story, obviously with the context of the old one but a new start that’s more calculated and many times better than the previous stories they’ve told, CANT WAIT.

And Clovis would have deserved every bit of it!!

I'm so glad you finally mentioned Entry 12. One of my favorite lore entries ever cause of how ominous and terrifying it is.

In relation to "Frontiers," i think the quote of one of the devs that they echoes "have spread throughout the GALAXY."
I think we are defs spending the 11th year exploring all the different planets that the Echoes have gone to as we shut them down/collect them?

A thought about the Precursor's 'glass minds.'
The FS-campaign quest for the Insight Terminal had a mention about how the psion's OXA machine and the Future War Cult's prediction Device were somehow the same thing. OXA is sometimes described as 'eternally lost and eternally rebuilt'.
Maybe, every time you build a predictive engine that's accurate enough, you essentially get the same device. A machine that performs the same function, essentially identical regardless of who is building it or when or out of what.
Glassminds, OXA, the Device... what if, whevever you build a prediction engine that's robust enough, you essentially end up with Vex? Vex that are as 'real' as the Vex that occur 'naturally' from radiolaria and mechanical frames. Functionally identical. That's just what you wind up with when you take predictive technology far enough.

It's nice seeing Fikrul come back only because its a big "told you so" from him. He knew that even if we killed him in Forsaken, he would come back even more powerful and we wrote him off as just another ad.
However, I do want to say, I'm extremely excited to play reprised Nessus. I was in love playing vanilla D2 going through Nessus. Such a pretty planet. Glad it's having an overhaul.

As someone who plays magic, I'm all for my Titan looking like Elesh Norn with that Navigator armour helm lol

Ok. So the lore pages from the ghost, sparrow, and ship from the season pass all seem to be from Maya’s perspective. She references “my Vex” several times but most importantly at one point she essentially asks the question, “is all of humanity necessary for another golden age?” And her conclusion seems to be that they are not.
Chilling stuff. Can’t wait to learn more.

With how the Dreadnaught is being changed, I can see it becoming a Lucent Hive ship.

I hope each episode is the equivalent of the amount of content that into the light has

I love that oryx story with him going into the void with that vessel he had made to commune with the darkness, I feel like the entity he spoke with might come up again

“As much as people want Destiny 3 to be announced now.” Lol no, I sure as hell don’t. And honestly it’s really just the top Tier 1% of Players (and RUclipsrs who are carried by fans within the 1%) who want that, because they wouldn’t need to put up much effort to get everything they lost back. Personally I don’t want to wait 5 Years for the Kings Wrath Weapons and Armor to be patched back in. Remember how in the Cinematic for D2 Launch, they showed the Queens Wrath Armor being worn…which to this day, has not been added…
Oh, uh I mean yaaaay! D3! Everything I’ve scraped by to get gone! Woohoo…

One thing that has been discovered by a friend of mine is that the dialougue at the end of Insight Terminus has been changed to mention Maya Sundaresh by Name at tne start of TFS

Im calling it, oryx comes back through necromancy (thus the name heresy) which explains why they mentioned how it’ll leave the pantheon changed forever.

I absolutely love the direction Destiny is currently taking. I've been playing since D1 but hadn't honed in on any of the lore at the time. I was playing with blinders on and with an exhausted mindset that didn't really leave me open to doing more than just brainlessly shooting things to get through the missions. I've been spending a lot of time recently watching old Byf videos, absorbing the lore like it's my own personal Ether, and I'm so absolutely beyond thrilled with all these possible connections.
It would be really interesting to see more of the Six Coyotes, and why we're only now starting to see a return there. There seems to be this interesting and beautiful balance between looking deep into the past (with discovering ancient civilizations) and looking forward with what happens next. My own theories are that we might finally get some answers about the K1 artifact in year 11! With the idea that we might venture deeper outside of Sol, we might get information on who or what it was communicating with, and what it's purpose was. Who knows, maybe we'll see the seeds of these answers in Echoes!

A neat little thing to point out is that during one of the shots of Fikrul, you can see them commanding the black fleet on the right side

Something that’s been on my mind recently as I’m still watching the complete story video and it’s are there still Awoken in the dualality or whatever it was called because if memory serves Mara Sov only led a expedition back to Sol and not the whole Awoken race.

The Echos bursting free of the Witness, affected by the Light and scattered across Sol and beyond, makes for a great deal of freedom in 'what next'. Becoming a fabulous bridge towards the next long campaign (multiple years' worth of content) -- feels very much like where I would set a Destiny TTRPG with lots of freedom to explore, and folk to create, etc -- however I'm also looking forward to continuing stories from the devs and team - supported by our very own loredaddy ;) Thanks Byf :)

The big thing with the episodes is we're finally getting some new villains. Pretty much everything for a while has been connected to the Witness in some way. Now we're finally getting a villain that we can identify for the Vex. The Scorn are getting to rise in prominence with the 2nd episode, and exploring the Fallen. And the Hive are in a weird state where one of their gods is dead, one is disgraced in their eyes, and the last true one is heavily weakened with only one life. I personally think the Hive may be looking at a big shake up in the pantheon. Now that the 3 siblings are weakened, I think some other prominent Hive are going to rise up and become demi-gods to full on gods in their own right. Probably more of them too, split up the hive and diversify them a bit with several gods. We already saw Eris take on the mantle of God of Vengence, who knows what others would show up.

considering that the excerpt regarding maya sundaresh disecting Clovis I also discussed her corruption of his interstellar navigation system meant to dicover new locations for humanity to inhabbit, I'd say that the importance of her exposition in this first echo will be of great value leading up to frontiers.

I’m most excited for Heresy, I was hoping the Witness had an eldritch form, which we kind of got in the raid and Excision, but if it’s a whole Episode/Season with that vibe, I’m hyped.

The dialogue of the "Insight Terminus" Strike has also been updated, where a Clone of Kargen tries to gain insight of MSund12 and the OXA-Machine again

So we know that Fikrul rejected Mara's offer of alliance.

Just noticed in that still with Saint having that collar: there’s a similarity between it and the Ishtar collective symbol. Can’t help but feel we might get some Ishtar related stuff, especially given the symbol is in the Starcrossed hidden room as well.

I would love to see a TSLAYP for The Final Shape. Listening to Byf's "Loregasm's" during The Witch Queen was very entertaining, so id love yo see his reactions to some of the stuff during The Final Shapes campaign.

My hope is with the reveal of Revenant, the first words spoken were something to the effect of “Revenant is very Fallen”, meaning Wrath of the Machine will finally make its way back in that season/episode. Cope or not, the timing would be right

I don't think I've ever been this early to a Byf video... I'm actually kind of impressed with the timing.

The second whoever that figure is in Echos was able to control Saint like that my mind went right to control of the mind fluid. I wonder if they'll be something special that Exo guardians can hear that others cannot; like when you would have Nez's gear equipped.

I only want to say, that in Pantheons lore on the TwiD about Oryx they said, that Akka, his wormgod, maybe still alive as the dreadnought. This Echo may bring him back as a character in game.

on an entirely different note, I just want to express how happy I am to be watching your videos again. I tried to watch them before, but not playing the game makes that less important to keep up with. Never been happier to get back into it.
